Banner Pharmacaps is a global drug delivery and specialty pharmaceutical company that researches, develops, and produces unique oral dosage forms that address unmet medical as well as consumer needs for the health care industry. Banner represents the culmination of a series of acquisitions in the late 1980's and early 1990's by parent company Vion, NV. Vion first acquired Pharmacaps, Inc. with operations in New Jersey and Mexico City. Vion then bought Banner Gelatin Products Corp., with operations in California and Alberta, Canada. The two companies merged in 1992, and in 1994, Vion strengthened its market position by acquiring Chase Pharmaceutical Company. The three companies were combined under the Banner Pharmacaps division to create one of the two largest producers of soft gelatin capsules in North America.
