Midwest Research Institute (MRI) provides contract research services for private and government clients in the following areas: national defense, health sciences, agricultural and food safety, engineering, energy, environment, information technology, and analytical chemistry. The institute operates laboratories and agricultural research centers in Florida, Maryland, and Missouri. MRI also manages the US Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) located in Golden, Colorado.
