PARI Pharma GmbH is a world leader in compressor and nebulizer technology development and manufacture. Established in 1906 by Paul Ritzau in Wuppertal, Germany, PARI Pharma started out developing compressors for use in industry. In the late 1950's and early 1960's, PARI used the core competency to develop aerosol systems for patients with respiratory problems. In 2007, PARI changed its name from PARI Aerosol Research Institute to PARI Pharma GmbH to highlight a focus on development of drug/device respiratory products.
