On October 8, 2003, Invacare Corp. announced their wholly-owned subsidiary, Professional Medical Imports (PMI). PMI is a distributor of value products as a home medical equipment (HME) provider. These products are marketed and sold under the ProBasics(TM) brand. PMI began operations in 1999 and operates independently through a separate sales organization and makes its own product, sales, marketing and pricing decisions.
