Replenish, Inc. was founded in 2007 from technology born jointly out of the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck School of Medicine and the California Institute of Technology’s (CalTech) to commercialize the technology. The idea for the Ophthalmic MicroPump™ originated from the National Science Foundation’s Biomimetic MicroElectronic Systems (BMES) USC/CalTech Engineering Research Center (ERC) that specializes in implanting microelectronics in the body.
