Sanochemia Pharmazeutika AG is a publicly traded (Frankfurt exchange), Austrian pharmaceutical company with a focus on the development and manufacture of novel drugs in the areas of neurodegeneration, pain and oncology. The modern Sanochemia Pharmazeutika AG was established by Dr. Werner Frantsits in 1990. Following its acquisition of a stake in Goldham Pharma GmbH, Germany, in 1999, Sanochemia secured a foothold in imaging agents. The purchase of the remaining shares in this company in 2002 allowed the company to form the core of today's Sanochemia Diagnostics operations. In 2006, Sanochemia acquired a majority interest in the Austrian pharmaceutical pain management and CNS company Alcasynn. Sanochemia has subsidiaries in Germany, Switzerland, UK, and USA.
