Vakzine Projekt Management GmbH acquires promising vaccine and drug candidates from academia, develops them with a consortium of partners and commercializes the results. The company has a high potential for value addition, thereby presenting itself as an interesting partner both to the pharma and vaccine industry and to private equity investors. VPM was founded in 2002 as a private “for profit” company by the current CEO and by two “not for profit” foundations, the Deutsche Stiftung Impfstoffforschung (German Vaccine Foundation, Hannover) and the development fund of GBF (German Biotechnology Research center, Braunschweig). VPM is is funded by BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung – German Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
